Of Failed Trig Tests, Algebra Shenanigans, and High Praise

My day has been.... Well.... Boring, yet somewhat eventful. Such a strange combination, I know! Here's a quick rundown of it, I suppose!

Let's start with early morning band. I have to be to the school with my instrument out by seven am every morning for San Antonio trip rehearsal. The trip is in two weeks! Woah! And then, after my teacher was already cranky over that, he then had to deal with the symphonic band for regular class after that. He's stressed. I feel bad for him. Danielle challenged me, but I fully intend on practicing and not letting her beat me, because I am trying to move up in the band as it is. I suppose that makes me rather frustrated.

I had trig next, and my mind was completely blank the whole time, so I failed the test, I'm sure of it. We have a big project due on Friday and I'm not even started. I should get on that. Now for algebra on the other hand, we had a substitute, so our whole class rejoiced. However, we ended up taking a team test, which also did not go as well as I had hoped.

Now after school, I had another meeting for AYCE, which stands for Authentic Youth Civic Engagement for those of you that didn't know. Just as a quick run down: AYCE is a part of the Youth and Family services. In AYCE there are three main subdivisions: school, community, and city. I am on the city team. We have our own youth/police board called Project Partnership. This is a subdivision of the city team, and is primarily for the youth to have a voice and change the perspective and subdue the tension between the youth and police in our city. So, we are currently doing Co-Op sessions to entice youth to become a part of Project Partnership. Now here cones the good part: we communicate directly with the chief of police: Chief Allender. Now, when I first joined just a few months ago, a little over a month into the school year, I was terribly shy around the chief of police, the adults and even the youth in the room. However, about my third meeting in, I finally got the guts to say what I thought. Now here's another good part: after our meeting today, I stayed to talk to Carmen and Carrie (two adults involved and in charge of AYCE) and Carmen told me that when I spoke up, after the youth left, Chief Allender told her that the boys in the room would be best off listening to me because I have a level, logical, understanding head on my shoulders. That's high praise from the chief of police, methinks. It made me feel good.

That's it for now.

Dad's Birthday Madness

So I just made it back to my dads office, only to find out that both my brothers are sick, Eddie with some sort of infection, and Wes threw up because he psyches himself out and makes himself think he's sick. However, gramma is here to save the day, and while mom is indisposed with taking Eddie to the doctor, gramma is making dads cake. I have to clean the microwave though. Ick. But I suppose that as long as it helps my poor stressed out momma it will be okay.... Sigh.

There are still so many things to worry about for the future.... Like flowers for prom, when and where pre prom photos will be taken, if any, packing for San Antonio, etc etc etc. save me the trouble and just give me a bag and a blindfold. I suppose I should stop complaining.... I get to go hang out at seaworld, Japanese walking garden, the Alamo, hard rock cafe, six flags, etc.... And in the sunshine. I'm excited. Hopefully everything will go well in the future! Loves, -Caiteaitedid

Just an Everyday Deal....

So.... I usually have a pretty.... well, kind of... busy life, on most days. Today, however, I feel lazy and boring.... Of course. Sigh. However, I do have several books I could be reading, so at least the boredom won't last forever. Anyways.... Today is my daddy's 45th birthday.... YAY!!! Happy Birthday, Daddy! However, it's also a red day at school, which means both math classes, trig AND advanced algebra two. Bleaergh. Anyways, I'm just out of trig, and am chilling at the office with my dad's wonderful secretary, Laura! I don't know anyone who doesn't love her. She's so fantastic! But as for how my day is going.... I'm completely exhausted, and I honestly do not have an explanation as to why! Such a shame..... Tsk.

On another note, though, In less than two weeks I shall be hanging out with my two delightful sisters, Ashley and Emily, as well as my momma, my aunt, and one of the best friends I have ever had: Aileen. Can you say excited??? The occasion is me getting out and finally buying a prom dress, of course.... So hopefully I won't be teased or humiliated by the people I love! Right when we get back to good old (cold, windy, dull) South Dakota, I shall finish packing for San Antonio and be on my way! Oh, how the time flies! I will be on a bus AAAAALLLL day on the 10th of April, be in San Antonio for 4 days, and leave on the 15th, to be on a bus all day long AGAIN, just to come home again. Phew! Then, on the 19th is Sam's birthday, and the 21st is prom.

Prom. I don't know if I'm excited or not..... As you see, I've never been before! I went tux shopping two days ago... That was interesting, to say the least! Goodness.... But at least that's done and taken care with.. Finally! Still have to get a dress myself, as well as flowers! Hopefully I won't be allergic, because that would just be silly!

Anyways, I suppose I better be heading back to school.... Ciao!
